Pastor Mike Todd has social media talking after preaching from a reclining massage chair reportedly worth about R66,000 ($4,000). The chair was part of the sermon, not just a seat.
The Transformation Church pastor used it as a visual illustration of how some Christians have become too comfortable in their walk with God. In the sermon, Todd explained the difference between being in “right standing” and “right sitting” with God. He said some believers only want to serve when it’s convenient and doesn’t require them to step outside their comfort zones.
Todd also called out Christians who are quick to judge how others worship, criticise pastors or make excuses when it comes to giving and serving. His message was that following Christ takes more than being comfortable. Sometimes you have to get up, make sacrifices and put your faith into action.
